Six back-to-school essentials (even if you’re not a student)

It’s that time of year again. Back to school for the college folk. For our younger readers, here are some things you definitely need to be packing in your backpack. For everyone else, these suggestions can help just about anyone be both functional and stylish when on the go:

1. Headphones

These red cherry wood headphones are not only beautiful, but they’re also perfect for those days you just want to walk to class in peace. For graduates, they’ll also cancel out the sound of your jams so everyone in your office doesn’t hate you.

2. iPad cover

Hang out in the Union on your lunch break and watch Netflix on your iPad while letting everyone know what good taste you have. And a brief brain break from work thanks to YouTube never hurt anyone.

3. Umbrella

We all know how fast a perfectly sunny day can turn into a thunderstorm here in south Louisiana. Don’t get caught running across campus (or downtown) without an umbrella.

4. Water Bottle

Stay hydrated at school with a Camelbak water bottle. These Camelbaks are great to fill up and throw in your backpack because they are leak proof. This makes them perfect for tossing in your gym bag for a post-work workout.

5. Notebook

A boy brings a spiral notebook to class but a man brings a leather notebook with acid free pages. Same goes for the boardroom.

6. Card Holder

Bring this to school with your debit card, license, and school ID instead of a big, bulky wallet.

Good luck this semester! Study hard, but party harder.
