Brew Ha-Ha debuts breakfast, brunch menu this weekend

As the story goes, if you walk into Gabby Loubiere’s Mid City coffee shop Brew Ha-Ha and ask for something enough times, the owner is bound to give you what you want.

“I’m not good at saying ‘No’ at all,” Loubiere says. “If you ask enough in here, you’re going to get it.”

One thing customers have been asking for is a breakfast menu on the weekends, and Brew Ha-Ha is making it a reality with a new breakfast/brunch menu debuting this Saturday.

The menu is simple and features Belgian waffles, a hot skillet item, a Brew Ha-Ha breakfast combo with two eggs and more, cinnamon French toast, biscuits and gravy, a fruit and yogurt parfait and a breakfast sandwich or wrap.

Loubiere says the decision to make a breakfast menu was a no-brainer.

“There are not a lot of places in Baton Rouge to go eat breakfast,” she says. “I want to keep growing in different areas. I wanted to think of something people would want every day.”

Loubiere’s business is already growing in popularity thanks to her social media wizardry, her delicious cake ball business and her lunch menu, which is filled with sandwiches named after her “barista-bots,” friends and regulars. With the school year and holidays coming, Brew Ha-Ha won’t have time to take a rest.

“The next few months are going to be packed in here,” she says. “I don’t want to roll this out at a time when it’s slow. I have to get it while the getting is good. I’m nervous as hell, but I’m just as excited. I think it’ll be awesome.”

Breakfast/brunch service starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Brew Ha-Ha is at 711 Jefferson Hwy. Ste. 2-A. (Map it!). —Matthew Sigur
