Heads up: Fete Rouge returns next week

Baton Rouge shows off its culinary side next week with the annual Fęte Rouge. Hosted by the Baton Rouge Epicurean Society at L’Auberge Casino & Hotel, the event kicks off Thursday with the Grace “Mama” Marino Lifetime Achievement Award Dinner, honoring Associated Grocers CEO Jay Campbell. The dinner features seven courses, and tickets are $200 per person. Festivities continue with the Food & Wine Fęte Friday, 7 p.m.-10 p.m., featuring more than 200 wines available for tasting as well as local chefs preparing their best dishes in a competition. Tickets are $75. A special Fęte du Vin event will also take place Friday, 6 p.m.-8 p.m., allowing patrons to sample elite wines. Tickets are $200. Proceeds from all events with go toward local childhood health and nutrition programs.

225 Dine was given a sneak peek at a few of the dishes that will be included in the main Food & Wine Fęte Friday. Attendees can expect to dine on wild mushroom-stuffed beef tenderloin encroute, roasted butternut and duck confit bisque, smoked crawfish head cheese, boudin-stuffed pork loin, smoked chicken and grits and much more.
