It seems that every August there is a sense of pressure looming over my head. Maybe it’s the heightened humidity levels, or the end of summer must-fit-in-all-fun-things-before-it’s-over syndrome, but it always leads to my desire for a more relaxed lifestyle. I long to leave my hair brush alone (let’s face it, though, it’s been deserted for a while now…), and hop in a vintage convertible and soar down a winding road while blasting Inna-Godda-Da-Vida. This week, let’s focus on letting our frizzy hair down, wearing next to nothing, and enjoying the steady flow of heat waves.
To start, don a lightweight maxi dress in a small print. Think 90s grunge florals that perfectly mis-match. Stack your jewelry for an impressive Instagram post, complete with a few upper arm cuffs for an extra cool factor. Easy, neutral sandals are a must! A neutral brown will go with anything in your closet, from browns, to blacks, and everything in between. Keep your makeup minimal or nonexistent, but apply a few spritzes of NYM Beach Babe spray. This cheap drugstore find creates just enough texture to look like you just came from the beach and smells heavenly! If you’re thinking, “But what bag do I bring?” un-think it. You’re a gypsy for the day, you don’t need the extra baggage.
