The heroes in a half shell return this weekend. The world’s most fearsome fighting turtles go CGI in the latest adaptation of the popular comic book Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The new live-action film features Johnny Knoxville as the voice of Leonardo, Tony Shalhoub as the voice of Master Splinter and Megan Fox as April O’Neil. Will Arnett, William Fichnter and Whoopi Goldberg also star. Though the film’s announcement was met with a warm response at first, the love died down when director Michael Bay became attached as producer. First glimpses of the new design for the classic characters were also met with disdain. This film could either be a surprise hit or a bomb on the scale of Howard the Duck. After Guardians of the Galaxy‘s record-breaking take last weekend, the new breed of Ninja Turtles could have some trouble at the box office. Rated PG-13. View the trailer below.
