Portraits features nine songs, including “X My Heart” and “Good Morning Boyfriend.” While the band’s previous EPs had a Belle and Sebastian-like pop-rock sound, Prom Date has now settled into its dance skin, unabashedly playing to the synth crowd and crafting keyboard-filled romps.
