Jammin’ jambalaya downtown

Walk downtown on Thursday and you’ll smell something spicy in the air: the scent of hot, bubbling jambalaya being made for the 24th annual Capital Area United Way Jambalaya Jam. Teams from all over the state will cook up their own special recipes for discerning diners, while downtown restaurants and bars provide additional food and drink. One team’s jambalaya will be declared the winner—and this year, guests can vote, too, with the Jambalaya Jam iPhone app available on the CAUW website. So chow down and vote—then party down to the music of The Michael Foster Project, Gal Holiday, The Elements and Stage Coach Bandits. You can get your tickets in advance at cauw.org/jam.
