If you’ve been paying attention to BR events for the last few days, you have probably heard the buzz about the 2014 Art Melt, presented by Forum 35. The threat of rain didn’t stand a chance against the fun to be had downtown! This was the 11th year for Art Melt and my first time participating in the festivities. I was so impressed! The preview party Friday was great for a people watcher like me to scan the crowd and love on people’s outfits. I love when the people of BR step out in their best!
Art Melt’s goal is to promote Louisiana artists, while bringing an extra weekend of culture to the capitol area. Friday’s preview gave attendees an exclusive peek at the exhibit at the Capitol Park Museum, now open to the public with museum admittance through August. Drinks were flowing, hors’doeuvres were passed like notes in middle school, and representatives from the Baton Rouge Symphony filled the nooks and crannies with lovely tunes. Once the crowd had a chance to view the exhibit, the winners were announced. A few of my favorites made the cut, which made me ecstatic! Congratulations to all the winners and I can’t wait for next year!
