See punk band Black Flag at The Varsity

A reformed version of a once-iconic California hardcore punk band visits Baton Rouge this weekend. Black Flag, the punk rockers known for innovating the West Coast punk rock sound with songs such as “TV Party” and “Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie,” will perform at The Varsity Saturday as a part of the Victimology tour. Cinema Cinema will open. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door. The band relaunched in 2013 with original guitarist Greg Ginn, vocalist Mike Vallely and an entirely new rhythm section. Last year also saw the release of the band’s latest album, What The…. The band is currently at work on a new album, set for release later this year.
