Blue Crush

Let me begin this post by saying that if there was ever an outfit that was 100% “Sarah,” this would be it. A sweatshirt dress in my favorite shade of cornflower blue, paired with cream sneakers and basic jewelry is bliss. Technically, this dress is considered “loungewear”—a.k.a, a fancy word for pajamas. Well, is there anything better?

Someone recently asked me if I prefer to dress for fashion or for comfort. Let’s be real, I fully believe in a happy marriage of the two. The retail market tells us that we have to be uncomfortable to look good. I have never been able to hide pain well, so this philosophy would never work for me.

I love a good pair of heels and am perfectly fine suffering for fashion, but only every once in a while. Living in the South, we know a thing or two about beating the heat. Shorts are never my preference in that instance and breezy cotton dresses play the part well. In a cool summer color, this dress is casual enough for sneakers but add different accessories and it can be formalized for work.
