Work is almost complete on two restaurants being built inside the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. Norman Albright, vice president of operations for Ballard Brands, says the WOW Café and PJ’s Coffee shop will have grand openings in late July. WOW Café specializes in salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps and wings. The franchise started in New Orleans in 2001. PJ’s Coffee, which also began in New Orleans in 1978, serves a variety of hot, iced and frozen coffee beverages.
The two businesses will set up shop in the upstairs, post-security rotunda area that offers around 3,000 square feet of space and has a common seating area with room for 100 patrons. A downstairs, pre-security PJ’s Café, with coffee and small meal items, is also in the works. The café will utilize around 1,500 square feet of space. No opening date has been set. —Matthew Sigur
