New Orleans restaurant and bar The Rum House opened last week at 2112 Perkins Palms Ave. Development on the Caribbean eatery started in summer 2013 on a half-acre site on Perkins Road in front of the Perkins Palms mixed-use development. In February, managing partner Michael Buchert told 225 Dine that a Baton Rouge location was imminent.
“[Managing partner Kelly Ponder and I] grew up here, and our families still live her,” Buchert says. “It made sense to have a location here.”
