See Keanu Reeves in the new action flick ‘John Wick’

The actor best known for his role in The Matrix is on the comeback trail. Keanu Reeves stars as the title character in this weekend’s movie, John Wick. In the film, Reeves plays an aging ex-hitman who comes out of retirement to take out the gangsters who took everything from him. Since The Matrix, Reeves hasn’t had a box office hit. While he has dabbled in directing with the critically-acclaimed/academic Side By Sidedocumentary about the role of digital media in filmmaking, his more recent acting gigs have seen less praise. Last year’s 47 Ronin couldn’t even wheeze its way to $40 million domestically against a production budget of $175 million. Also last year, Reeves directed and starred in the little-seen, yet fun Man on Tai Chi. While John Wick was on no one’s radar earlier this year, the movie has been touted as a surprisingly enjoyable action flick that should put him back on the map.
