Flower power

LSU MFA graduate and New Orleans-based ceramicist Bradley Sabin’s lush, wall-climbing garden Interface is one of 50 stellar pieces from Pelican State artists on display now through Oct. 28 at the LSU Museum of Art for Uniquely Louisiana, a new exhibition celebrating the state’s bicentennial.

It took Sabin 11 hours to mount the 1,500 hand-formed flowers and the human figure to the wall of the museum’s gallery.

“I moved to Louisiana in 1993 for grad school at LSU, and the abundance and voraciousness of the flora here really has inspired me ever since,” Sabin says. “Interface is about the feeling of being one with nature or overwhelmed by the beauty of it, what I refer to personally as a nature moment.” lsumoa.com
