A country singer and former Nashville Star contestant visits the Capital City this weekend. Kacey Musgraves performs at The Varsity Friday. Doors open at 8 p.m. The show starts at 9 p.m. John & Jacob will open. Tickets are $30. Musgraves is touring behind her 2013 album Same Trailer Different Park, which includes the hit singles “Follow Your Arrow” and “Merry Go ‘Round.” While she doesn’t think her subject matter is controversial, some have pointed out Musgraves’ style is a bit rougher than other female country singers. Still, she’s turning heads of country and non-country fans. For more information, visit kaceymusgraves.com.
